Capitol Risk Personal Security Training Now Use The New Shocknife In All Knife Defence Courses

New Shocknife now used in all personal security training knife defence courses.

Capitol Risk are one of the first, if not the first, personal security training companies to use this unique training device in the UK.

The Shocknife brings an added sense of realism to training not found with any other training knife.

If you come into contact with the ‘blade’ of the shocknife, you only feel the shock in that area; the shock is totally localized.

We will be posting some videos on this unique training device shortly!

Capitol Risk Personal Security Training asked to take part in Metropolitan Police Event

24th July

Capitol Risk Personal Security Training has been approached by the Metropolitan Police to take part in a local borough knife awareness event. They have asked if we would be able to give a talk to the local community about knife attacks, and to do some demonstrations of knife defences that we teach to security officers.

Unfortunately, due to the short notice we are unable to take part but we do look forward to participating in future events.

We are always happy to take part in events arranged by local authorities.

Petition to Downing Street for security guards – From February 2008

We received a petition asking:

“We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Allow Front Line Security Officers with SIA Licences to train and use handcuffs and extendible batons.”

Details of Petition:

Front line security officers/guards have as much chance of being seriously injured if not killed by an offender that they have detained. Most offenders are drug dependants who are desperate and or wanted on warrant already and do not want to be locked up.They do not think twice about pulling and using knives, blades, needles etc.By training Security Officers/guards to use and carry hand cuffs and batons as the police do.The security officer/guard has a better chance against the offender who is prepared to pull weapons and cause serious injury or death.Help and train security officers to protect themselves and not just become another statistic.”

Swine Flu and Personal Security Training – 17th July

Swine Flu & Training

With the latest press reports stating over 55,000 case and 29 deaths attributed to swine flu in the UK alone, it is now necessary for all businesses to take preventative measures to help try and slow the spread of the swine flu disease.

If you book one of our training courses and find that, in the two weeks prior to the training course, you EITHER display any symptoms associated with swine flu or are diagnosed with swine flu, then we respectfully request that you do not attend the training course. We will happily book you on to the next course at no extra cost.

There are several simple things you can do to help protect yourself from this disease.

- Don’t share anything – mobile phones, towels, pens (in places like banks), etc
- Wash hands frequently
- Carry a mini hand sanitizer and use it. Available from places like Boots & Tesco for about £1
- If you work in a large corporation, suggest a ‘no shaking hands’ policy throughout the company

Remember that swine flu symptoms may mimic those of regular flu and cold symptoms.
